Tips For Holiday Flying

A+ A- A

Plane over cityAround 27 million passengers are expected to fly on U.S. airlines alone between the dates of November 21st and December 2nd for the Thanksgiving holiday. About a month later, the airlines will experience another surge of passengers for Christmas and New Years. If you’re flying this holiday season, you’ll likely face crowds and chaos at the airport, but there are a few ways you can make the experience a little easier.

Tips For Flying During the Holidays

Below are a few ways you can make holiday travel a little less stressful:

  • Arrive Early – The holiday crowds will make it more likely that you’ll need to stand in longer lines. Arriving at the airport an hour earlier than usual can make an important difference. Not only will you make sure you have plenty of time, but you’ll also eliminate any stress associated with running late.
  • Pack Smart – When packing, keep security lines in mind. Make sure you’ve brushed up on the TSA rules and pack your bags accordingly. Additionally, we also suggest packing important items (such as medication or valuables) in your carry-ons, just in case there’s any problem with your checked baggage.
  • Watch the Weather – As your flight approaches, be sure to be aware of the weather conditions between your area and that of your destination. Rain, wind, and snow are all common weather problems for the holiday season. If the weather isn’t looking good, be sure to check your airline’s website for any potential updates.
  • Be Patient – Lastly, it’s important to be patient and calm when arriving at the airport for your trip. Lines are longer, the airport will be more crowded, and things may get stressful. Anticipate these conditions and be as courteous as possible to the airport staff and your fellow travelers.

Here at CW Flight, we want to wish you a safe and Happy Thanksgiving holiday. To learn more about owning or leasing a private plane, please contact our Salt Lake City, UT location.
